The capital of Britannia: a mining town under the mountain, and where every new character begins. It has a bank, a forge on smithy row, Rue's tavern and the mine yard, where the work is. The Porters' Drift and the cage down to the Deeps are both a short walk from the yard.
Why the capital is here
Britain is still the biggest city on the map. But the ore that feeds every forge in the realm comes out of Minoc's mountain, the porters who carry it work from Minoc's yard, and the Deeps under the mountain, where the Warden keeps the Heart, open from Minoc's Adit. Every new adventurer is set down at the foot of Minoc's mine road. So the realm's business, and its capital, moved to the mountain.
