Alpha v0.8.4

October 7, 2026

New

  • The Warden's Deep goes deeper. Twelve floors in three strata: the Workings, the Banked Forges and the Lodestone Choir, with two camps where you can rest, buy supplies, or ride the lift home (your run ends; your best depth stays on the leaderboard). Two new bosses wait at the bottom of each lower stratum. Every run still starts at floor 1.
  • Bring friends, not a crowd. The Deep now scales its monsters to how many people are near you, not to your party size: four players face about two and a half times the foes, not four. Companions count as half a player, and everyone rolls their own loot.
  • The descent board. Post or sign a notice at Minoc's bank to gather a group for the Deep.
  • Moonreach, the observatory town. The walled town has a look and sound of its own: chalk stone, slate and brass, cold candle-white nights, and the Great Glass striking the hour. The Watch on the walls now shoots whatever is hunting you near them. Light the Glass's lamps at night and it names a sign: one lair's leader walks silvered, and whoever brings it down first takes the Moonreach Star-Glass.
  • The Hollow Choir, rebuilt. A cathedral sunk into the downs whose dead congregation never stopped singing. The dead only truly die in the rests between verses, and silencing a floor's voice stops its hymn.

Fixed

  • Minoc's boundary line prints once. "Thou hast left the protection of the guards" no longer repeats.
  • The Choir's first boss is fair alone. A fresh adventurer can now win the first fight of the Hollow Choir.
